There are two community events happening on Maui and we’re hoping you will participate! The two events are: The GREAT AMERICAN SMOKE OUT and Smoke-Free CARS = HEALTHY KIDS Art Contest.

The Great American Smoke Out will be at the Maui Mall on Saturday November 19th from 9am-12:30pm.   There will be food, music, and health information for the whole family.  Click here to download the 2011 GASO poster.

The Healthy Kids Art Contest is for intermediate school students grades 6-8 to develop a positive message and drawing on the topic of Smoke-Free Cars when Keiki are inside.  Deadline to submit art is Nov 1st at your school office – Winners will be announced and awarded at the Great American Smoke Out Nov. 19th with a grand prize of $100.

Both events are sponsored by the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Maui in partnership with MEO Youth, REAL, and the American Cancer Society.

Smoke-Free Cars = Healthy Kids Art Contest
Join in the efforts to help spread the word that secondhand smoke in cars, when keiki age 17 and under are present,  is harmful for your health!  S MOKE-FREE VEHICLES are great for the health of keiki and the entire `ohana and also good for the environment.  We’re looking for creative positive messages and artwork to use as part of future media campaigns.   Use the links below to download the contest rules, entry form, and flyer.
